Centennial Club 2018 Overview and Why You Should Join in 2019
Thursday, Dec 20, 2018 @ 10:50 PM

(Los Angeles) December 20, 2018 - Our Centennial Club enjoyed a wide range of speakers this year with luncheons held across Los Angeles. Discussions on the importance of law enforcement in neighborhoods, municipal rent control ordinance changes, supporting homeownership, and standing up for Proposition 13 and rejecting Proposition 10 were all hot topics in 2018.

Irma Vargas and James Litz with Sheriff McDonnellSpecial guests included outgoing County Sheriff Jim McDonnell, State Senator-Elect Maria Elena Durazo, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA) President Jon Coupal, and municipal rent control specialists from Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills.Rich Kissel Introducing Maria Elena Durazo

Our members dined with these elected officials, key decision makers, and policy implementers at the Plum Tree Inn (Downtown LA), Shutters on the Beach (Santa Monica), Heritage Square (Highland Park), and the Mayfair Hotel (Downtown LA). We diversify locations to bring you unprecedented access at convenient, stylish, and timeless locations.

Tica O'Neill with HJTA President Jon CoupalBy contributing $148 or more to our REALTOR® Action Fund (RAF) you are able to RSVP free of charge (first come first served – based on RSVP system) to these exclusive events, but your donations do much more than that.

We use those critical contributions to combat legislation that hinders housing production and punishes homeowners. These funds also allow us to support elected officials and causes that aid our industry.

Many of our Centennial Club members get involved in our Public Policy Committee. This committee meets monthly on policy issues related to the real estate industry.

In May, we sent a large delegation of REALTOR® advocates to Sacramento and Washington D.C. to lobby legislators and their staffs to support more housing production, support fair housing for all, and reduce barriers for buyers and sellers to make transactions.BHGLAAR Delegation in Sacramento with Asm.
